The first of David Kynaston's six books of his "Tales of a New Jerusalem" series covering the Social History of Britain from the end of World War II to the election of Margaret Thatcher in 1979.

Anyone that enjoyed Andrew Marr's "A History of Modern Britain" will love this series of books (the 2nd covering 1951-1957 is out in October 2009).
