No offence taken. However, I don't follow your logic. Do Prem fans love their club more than L2 fans then? Are the shirts cheaper to produce for lower league clubs?

Probably more about how much more people are prepared to let big clubs rip them off for any kind of merchandise compared to smaller clubs. After all, as 1900al said, £40 is a silly price but you'll happily pay a more sensible and less offensive price of £15.

If the so-called fans of the big clubs would have this attitude, and hold the clubs to account for their money grabbing ways, football might remember what's really important about itself. That's serving the fans, not making a profit.

you are paying for a brand basically. Its like premiership is heinz beans and div 2 are tesco value - both fill you up but ones tastier (debatable perhaps)
Probably cost more to produce for div 2 if the same quality as will be less able to take advantage of bulk production as lower market.

In all fairness tho, the team is made up of majority englishmen which is great to see . To many damn forieners in our football these days, how on earth we ever going to have a decent england side if we dont seek talent from the uk.

I support the Worlds richest club ...Man City! but I also follow Rochdale as I used to work for them and the fit/material and everything about Rochdale's is cheaper. I have seen many League two and League One shirts and the same seems to be true. I guess the manufacturers of Prem League shirts pay so much to the club to be their supplier. (I seem to remember Kappa paying a fortune to take over as Man Citys shirt producer, whereas Rochdale and Co have to pay a shirt provider to produce shirts for them) and they also have to satisfy the major sports chains that they should stock their shirts (never see non-premier league shirts in these outlets)

£40 is the standard shirt cost, whether it's Premier league or Blue Square. Maybe the standard of the football is not so high in lower leagues but the standard of support is much higher. More dedicated loyal followings rather than armchair plastics and gloryhunters.

Anyway, owners of Premier League football shirts who wear them in public also have to shell out for the cheap Donnay jogging bottoms complete with decorating stains that they always seem to wear with them.

If you are talking about quality of football well that's obviously a bit of a no-brainer. If however, you're talking about quality of shirts then that is a load of garbage. If just retired after 27 years running a textile operation in Madagascar. For the vast majority of that time, I was producing european (mainly English club) football shirts. Don't get too bogged down in either the league position of the team or even the manufacturer's logo on the shirt. They're all made by the same place. Some contracts demanded higher quality materials than others, sure, but it was not related to their footballing status. In general, lower league clubs paid more, because they ordered less.
