Wharfedale were a good brand once upon a time but were flogged to the lowest bidder.
Are their speakers still good? They used to be excellent.

Yup, most def. The Diamond 9s are highly rated. The speaker division seems to be unrelated to the low price tat division.

10 years ago their Valdus range were decidedly average and I don't think they have improved much.

..trust me I was there on the production of the Valdus line, Wharfedale were driven into the ground ..for shame!
Now part of a chinese based audio group.

I had the Argos 47" Wharfedale LCD and got a refund after 8 months of use. It had loud buzzing and caused PC to crash when selecting inputs with pc connected via HDMI. Digital tuner stopped working as well. You can't get the spare parts I was told. These are actually made by Vestel as with most Argos phones, tvs, you name it.

Nothing to do with the speaker brand but Argos sell loads of Wharfedale labelled gear and it gives the speaker brand a bad name.

I think these are old speakers as the Diamonds are rated by What HiFi.

I have some old Vardus speakers and they are years old, about to upgrade.
