Can one run TomTom off of this Sat Nav? I believe it is possible with other non-TomTom devices by way of downloading the TomTom files and transferring them onto the memoey source, such as a MicrcSD card, etc.

Yes as it runs WinCE. So just following the navigo tutorials on hacking WinCE.

Erm, just to clarify: In order to get TomTom running from this device, I would have to follow the Navigo tutorials - which I presume will be accessible via a Google search - on hacking WinCE. Does that sound about right? Also, some of my colleagues have mentioned to me that although one can essentially have TomTom running from a non-TomTom SatNav, it will never be as good as the real thing because of readily-available updates, etc, when u purchase the real thing. Can someone please confirm or elaborate on this matter please? Thanks!

Can still be had in Halfords for under £30. Proof or purchase emailed to Route 66 will result in a free update to 3rd Quarter 2008. The 'stretch' is the Maxi version. I'd imagine the regional, UK & Ireland , be of more use.
