You sure of that?

That device requires 19v and around 3amps to boot up

Bought this some time ago when it was on offer. Good power supply and works with virtually anything with the correct adapter. It is easy to swop polarity (+/-), so be careful. It doesn't have protector diode and I wouldn't use it on very sesitive equipment such as digital cameras.

Its a switch mode power supply the output is quite accurate and stable. I use one to charge/power Navigo V1 and power my Lacie mobile hard drive when its connected to the Wii. Since these use the same settings I hot glued the tip on and put a bit each side of the voltage slider.

I recently had to get a replacement Amilo Pro laptop adaptor for someone at work and am sure the voltage required was around 19v as the other poster stated. I really do not believe a 7 volt adaptor would power it properly, or at all for that matter.

This will not power any laptop. Not even a netbook. You can get universal laptop chargers for about £20 or even less on ebay.

Got a replacement laptop charger for the G/F's compaq last week, and that's only a fairly low power draw 1.6ghz Turion x64, and that's 18.5 volts.
