One year free domain and hosting from Microsoft for small business (or personal) use

53°

FOUND BY: blammo 9 months, 2 weeks ago

This is aimed mainly at the small business but I guess there's nothing stopping you setting up a personal website.

For the first year you get the domain , some site-building tools, reporting tools, project type stuff, 100 e-mail addresses and 500MB of storage. You start getting charged after the end of the first year I think

You need to supply an email address when signing up and card details when registering a domain.

Some analysis here: http://news.cnet.com/8301-13845_3-10160295-58.html

I think you get cash back too from Quidco and Topcashback. It used to be £5 last year.

depends on the domain you register, i think a .com costs about £10 a year, .co.uk might be the £12 for 2 years.

I used this a while back and it is rubbish!

You get some ghastly templated site that looks like its from 1980! You cannot FTP your own content or pages unless it fits the template and the horrid content management system!

Do not use this to host a domain you intend to keep. Try it with a rubbish domain name first before using the one you want for real. You don't want to get locked in to this with your real domain or you will be trapped and find it almost impossible to transfer out, get support, make the pages they way you want them etc.

Not worth the grief for 50 pence cash back! Unless you are willing to pay... voted cold as a snowman's p00p.

Things might have changed but I doubt it.

Try any of the following. Great prices, award winning service, UK based and decent cashback

This is not anti MS rant. This product / service sucks snowballs.

The editor is really poor, but it's ok, here is my site www.dcxtended.co.uk I got it free from this offer but have had it for well over a year, at least two years I think.
