Serenity DVD £2 instore at Sainsburys

Was in my local Sainsbury's (Colney Fields) and they have a DVD sale on with prices starting at £1.

Mostly all of the £1 and £2 films were really low budget movies that I have never heard off but in the mix of them all I found Serenity for £2 which I though was a good price for a great Sci-Fi movie.

The other half picked up 'Girls Just Want to Have Fun' for £1 but I don't think I will be watching that one!

I'm about half way through firefly series on sky hd at the moment, They play one or two episodes every saturday morning. Pretty good so far.

Serenity movie was good as well [quite amusing] & well worth £2

I found the movie was pretty much rubbish if you hadn't seen the series before hand. Not impossible to follow by any means, but you just felt that you were missing out on all the relationships and back story. It felt like exactly what it was: a feature length final episode of a TV show I hadn't seen.

I completely disagree.

I watched the film first (and loved it) and then watched the series which was also top notch.

Strongly recommend both to all (especially at this price).

One of the few films I could watch over and over again and not get bored of it.

Fantastic film also the new series by Joss Whedon Dollhouse is worth a look too especially if you remember Katya Kinski from neighbors.

Firefly is a fantastic series so if you get this i would suggest you try and look at firefly first as it was 12 or 14 episodes long. i believe serenity is film that followed on from that series.

I disagree aswell as i watched serenity first & enjoyed it without knowing anything about firefly.

As people are mentioning Firefly I thought I would do a search and it appears you can get the 4 disc complete series for £11.98 at Amazon or £11.99 at Play. All other online retailers seem to be £20 +

I watched this film after reading the plaudits from newspaper critics on the back of the box. I must have really missed the point as it was one of the worst films I have ever seen. A good price though for those who seem to like it and at least it isn't too much money wasted for those that don't. Hot.

from a generation of true sci fi films like star wars this film is rubbish especially for the year it was made, in comparison to lesser titles.
