Most used phrase of the year so far!!!!!

I was honestly thinking a similar thing the other day, it is such a loss coz you could always rely on them to have inane objects that you always need and cant get anywhere else!

Your town centre must suck. I can't think of anything they sold that i can't get elsewhere.

Yes we miss Woolies but being realistic what we miss is somewhere we could get stuff cheap. Look at the average spend of the Woolies shopper and it isn't hard to see why the store struggled to pay its overheads. In its day it was the biggest retailer of music and video but then the internet came along and it lost most of its turnover to online shoppers. Maybe if they had changed the way they operated as the markets around them changed they may have survived. The sad reality is that the type of business it used to be was not a viable business for today's shopper and it hung on to yesterdays way of doing business too long.
