Summed it up perfectly, as a system builder although I haven't weighed up the cost, although preferably any system personally I would prefer to build myself choosing the components, I am sure spec wise building something comparible would come in cost wise not much under the price of this.

Hot deal for those that like to buy their PCs as a bundle.

No - it's designed to use the display that's built in. If you want a system to connect up to an external monitor/television, I would suggest a regular HTPC, or a compact pc like the Dell Studio Hybrid models.

You can find details for this particular model on Sony's website.

However.....as TheProf mentioned, I don't think you'll be able to use the 20% discount code on this item.

I purchased this almost 2 weeks ago when they had the 14% off for valentines day. I am more than happy with it. Picture quality and sound are great. I must admit I am no teckie but I am really happy with it. 20% voucher is only off clothing according to an email

£105 for a matching Intel Core Duo desktop CPU offering same performance as the Mobile T8100
£70 Vista Home Premium
£80 19" Widescreen Monitor

Theres £255 of this straight away, then add in the cost of Hard disk, memory, motherboard, card reader, tv tuner card, dvd writer, Case, PSU, Keyboard and mouse..what is there not to get?

As I stated earlier as a system builder I would struggle to match building a system costing much less than this deal.

Personally I would prefer to build a system, but for those that want an all in one system it offers very good value for the price.

No hump, just compaing this to a HTPC is silly, but if someone wants a powerful (in comparison to HTPC) desktop to play the odd film on this would of been fine if it had VGA/DVI.
