WTD: SATA hard drive

POSTED BY: dean_brfc 1 year, 2 weeks ago

As title states really, after a SATA hard drive to go in a budget desktop build. 320gb would be nice but might be a little expensive, anything above 120gb will be considered though.

At the moment that is too expensive, I went over budget by adding a more RAM and a new keyboard/mouse to the build so I'm going to have to cut back on the hard drive. Thanks for the link though, I might eventually go for something like that when I have the money in a couple of months.

I'd save and get yourself a cheap drive later on. Prices go up and down, wouldn't buy a second hand drive unless dirt cheap.

The thing is I need a drive in it to make it work, it's all that's missing now. I did a quick search on here and people seem to be selling 120gb for around £13-15 delivered, something like that would tide me over until I can afford a new one. Anything more would be a bonus. I've bought second hand drives in the past and never had any problems really so I don't mind doing it.

might be ok, but remember postage costs on hard drives...why dont you just buy a very small ie disposal drive? ie 20/40gb?

I have a couple, one i leave an installation of windows on so if anything happens to the pc i can still boot it, diagnose problems, etc.

Not really keen on going that way - if I ever have any problems I just use a Linux live CD to fix the problems.

I have a Western Digital 160Gig drive.

Couple of years old but never had any problems with it.

Would sell for £16 delivered.

Sorry I don't need this anymore, I found a 300gb for £25 on another forum. Thanks for the offers though, I'll expire this now.
