before ordering from pixmania have a read of this forum and look at a few of the links in the responses I wouldn't like to be having to deal with a faulty 46"

Google average customer ratings
Pixmania 2.6 out of 5
Dixons 2.1 out of 5 (where i bought my tv from).
Although they are both pretty poor.

So £688.85 inc Vat. But you have to pay to be member.
And what about delivery?

Oh, and their web site says:-
"Costco is an exclusive wholesale cash and carry membership warehouse club and is not open to the general public. Membership is required. You are eligible for trade membership if you are a bonafide business owner/manager who can provide evidence of trading. Follow our Trade membership tab above for further details."

Dixons tend to be bad for missing deliveries and support, Pixmania are really bad if you get a faulty product. Dixons aren't great for returns, but you are in a much stronger position when dealing with a UK based company.

As Andyrolfe666 says, this set is only about £35 more at Costco. Well worth driving to collect for as Costco free 5 year warranties are a mile better than anybody else's. If you bring back the faulty product they usually just give you a full refund, being able to buy a better TV for your cash easily makes up for the inconvenience.

Most people seem to find a way to be a member or know someone who is one. They are collection only and you do need the membership, but a 5 year warranty for £35 isn't to be sniffed at. A good friend of mine is an electronics engineer and he is convinced that the average life of an LCD is about 5 years everyday use, hence you a quite likely to have a problem in that timeframe.

What are you talking about? They are owned by the same company!
DSG international plc

Both have exactly the same price including delivery (£667) but excluding discounts and Quidco.

Doesn't matter who the parent international company is. Pixmania.com is based in France and is known for sending non-UK models to the UK. Personally, I received a phone with a German AZERTY keyboard layout and no UK plug so I haven't used them again. I've heard countless similar stories. You need to send your products and complaint letters to France which can be a real hassel.

The difference is Dixons are uk based and you are protected by british consumer laws, while with pixmania you dealing with a french based company and will have to deal with either the french legal system or the european law and you would probably watching a hologram projector before you got a result there!
