This is the slower 192 shader version and not the faster 216 shader version. Also note that the HD4870 512mb is available for £145 and the HD4870 1gb for £165:

The 192 shader version of the GTX260 is slower than both versions of the HD4870:

I would have the 260 over the 4870 any day and this is a great deal. There is hardly any difference between the 192 and the 216 version. Probably the best price we will see on these, plus you get the Evga 90 day stepup program . Also Evga have superb customer support. HOT!!!

As mentioned both 512MB and 1024MB versions of HD4870 are better. The HD4870 will also have a price cut to coincide with the release of GTS 250 cards.

GTX 260-216 = 1024MB HD4870 > 512MB HD4870 > GTX 260 > 9800GTX+/GTS 250 = HD 4850

A good price, but its still not the best bang for buck in the ~£160 market. 10 year warranty is good though.

They've been price matched by overclockers uk (well slightly beaten), but then again novatech have quidco.

The service from novatech is probably better though.

Would definately take the 4870 1GB at this price point. This is the older 260.

I agree. But those with a GTX 260-192 (probably kicking themselves for spending so much on release) have a cheap SLI route.

Any ideas for a good motherboard for this. As i am building a new PC and got the newer model of Geforce 260 GTX 216 already along with the Intel Quad Core Q6600

Thanks
