This price is only if you also take a Virgin landline at £11 pm, otherwise it's £20 pm

Yes this is adsl.

I'm currently with Talktalk, but they (talktalk) want £120 to end the contract early!) .
But Virgin charge nothing for connection or the router and then it's £15 a month for both broadband (ADSL) and phoneline after paying £5 for the first three months.

Yes this will be for those without the virgin landline. The landline package is basically virgin doing a piggyback on your bt landline and charging for the calls. Which can be expensive as virgin cost a fortune for calls especially not bt have intoduce free calls for 0845 and the like.

I'm glad I just left Virgin. All their support is offshore, terrible to deal with. Their traffic management policy is the toughest out there, they have secret "maintainance day" sundays where I got intermittant service. They were also unable to offer me any kind of promotional deal to stay. Bye bye. good riddance!

Am I reading the virgin site wrong? It seems to me that it's £5 for the first 3 months and then £14 per month after that. But what about the £11 per month line rental? This makes it £16 for the first 3 months and £25 after that. Is this correct? My talktalk is £20.99 per month and for this I get broadband, line rental, free uk and international calls anytime. I have had cable broadband before, it is better than ADSL but price does matter to me.

VM advertised speed is just theoretical. Their traffic management leaves you with 25% of your speed for most of the day. If you pay for 10MB, you'll get 2.5MB. So much for Broadband.

Telephone costs are VERY high with VM (more expensive than BT for almost all calls).

I don't know how they get away with that!

£25 a month for cable phone and broadband might seem expensive but it is fairly cheap when you consider you can add ALL the TV channels for a one off payment of around £100.

It's amazing how experiences differ. Any support call I have made seems to be somebody in Wales. (Wales is still onshore unless the Severn has severely flooded) I've had 100% reliability and they keep reducing the price. Wouldn't deal with anyone else.

Glad to hear you have having a better time than me. Their technical support is in Mumbai. So if you need to query a bill, you are fine. If you need to report a fault (on secret maintainance sunday for example) you may as well save your premium rate phone call, and not bother.
