This TV seems to have some good reviewes around the internet and it appears to be the cheapest price available.

Price is £579.10 - £10 = £569.10 using voucher code PIXUK0912

4% quidco off of the ex. vat price basically cancels out the £19.90 delivery charge.

Good price for a 42" and I have the 37WV505DV and can confirm that the PQ on these sets is nothing short of amazing on SD, let alone a HD feed. However, deal with Pixmania at your peril...a very inconsistent company in terms of customer service.

Woah, hold on there sonny jim...as good as the PQ on these sets are, they do not YET match the crisp images observed on CRTs. But of all the LCDs out there, I found this Toshiba range (XV503DB/XV505DB) to have one of the best optical performances in terms of handling SD and HD feeds.

it depends also on how far away you sit from the tv. of course if you sit with your nose right next to it it's not as crisp as a crt. my sofa is about 6 to 7 feet away from my lcd n like i said the picture is pretty darn fantastic

I bought the 42XV555DB from Dixons a couple of weeks ago.

http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/33842...d-ready-1080p/

It went back within three days!. Bad SD picture quality (no amount of tweeking could help it get decent picture). There was also an occasional buzz from the speakers. I took the bass boost off, but it still did it.

Swapped it out for the Samsung LE40586. Much better. Its 2 inched smaller and cost £50 more, but it is well worth the extra. SD picture fine. HD good.

Incidently the guys from Dixons who came to pick it up said that they had been picking them up all week. So i guess its not just me.

I use this TV with a HTPC. Would recommend. Picture quality requires considerable fine tuning (still not totally satisfied) and you have to use the PC preset in order to have crisp text for some reason (I guess they leave out some post picture processing). But 1080p trailers look amazing.
