EXPIRED - British Airways flights to New Zealand (Auckland) from £397 @ Expedia.com.au

£397.00

347°

FOUND BY: marble 8 months, 1 week ago

I apologise if anyone is getting bored of these flight deals, but these are the cheapest flights I've ever seen!

If you go to Expedia's Australian site you can take advantage of the exchange rate. Currently, they are offering return flights from Heathrow to Auckland for under £400!

For example:
9th May - 23rd May: $846 AUS - £397
16th May - 23rd May: $846 AUS - £397
23rd May - 6th June: $846 AUS - £397

If you don't fancy going all the way to New Zealand, then it'll cost you more to get off the plane early (?!?). Flights to Sydney are $902 AUS ... or about £422!

All these flights are with British Airways, though there are other airlines for a few pounds more. The best deals seem to start in April/May. Please check your bank before booking as you will be charged in Australian dollars ... make sure you know what the conversion charge is.

EDIT: Not sure why the link takes you to an Expedia 'Price Promise' page (it does for me) ... I assume this is something to do with the HUKD ...

Emigrating or returning to the homeland? I'm hoping to disappear off in the opposite direction (Canada) in the not too distant future (nothing personal, honest).

Never quite worked out why Australians seem to love the UK so much ... while we all want to go over there! I love the idea of Aus, but not sure I can take the snakes or the travelling!

Hopefully off to Canada on a skilled worker visa ... the missus qualifies, but I don't ... so I'll be entering purely on my partner status. The weather isn't as nice as Australia, but I reckon they equal each other on scenery.

Which part do you plan to go to? Us Brits don't normally have to contend with crocodiles ...

This fare hurts considering we paid £1100 each to go to NZ at the end of Jan this year (including for my two year old!).

You will NOT get the same exchange rate on your card that you get on XE.com when you check. Be prepared to pay a few % more. But obviously, it is still cheaper than any alternatives...

Don't let it bother you too much that you paid £1100 mate. Fare prices to NZ are very seasonal, you went in the middle of their summer/our winter when carriers charge the most. This is a good deal but you would normally expect to pay around £700 for that time of year.

This is also with BA which may not be ideal for everyone, although the price is undoubtedly very good so you could I guess put up with the letdowns compared to say Singapore Airlines or Air Malaysia etc

Good find

Not trying to put anyone off but be very careful with your booking, incase something is not right, their customer services are the worst I have come across. I cancelled a booking with them last December and still waiting for a refund.

I cancelled my expedia.com.au flight from Lon to Orlando a few months ago. They said the refund could take 12 weeks, but it arrived in 3 days. Better still, the refund was for a non-refundable NWA flight. They let me cancel on the grounds of it being a 30minute schedule change, on a Delta 767 (was a NWA A330 but the companies have merged).

Expedia have to wait for the flight carrier to refund them, then they refund you. This is why it takes so long sometimes (some companies dont refund for months..its not always the fault of the broker).
