Sharp LC46D65E 46" 1080p LCD TV - £619.10 + £19.90 delivery @ Pixmania (ex. quidco)

£619.10

250°

FOUND BY: Llamaman 8 months, 2 days ago

This seems like a great price for this TV.

The basic price is £644.10.
Use code PIXUK0913 to get £25 off = £619.10
Quidco @ 4% of ex. vat price brings the price down to £598.05

Delivery is £19.90 so total price is £617.95

There are some people that don't rate Pixmania too highly but as a whole they seem to be good when I used them and apparently they have got better recently. The next best price I can find is £659 at 1staudiovisual.co.uk so this appears to be a good deal.

good price, looking into getting a new telly at the mo.

don't think you're meant to include Quidco in prices on here though, not everyone uses it.

And next cheapest would be here i'd say - http://www.teleworldplc.com/model.as...lID=837&Show=1

It isn't 1080p and I would consider it essential for a screen thats 46" to have it

If you buy from Pixmania you better pray that nothing ever goes wrong with it, as their after sales service.....actually, let's just say they haven't got one.

I'd rather get it for £644 from Dixons, at least they're actually based in the UK.

Watching this tv now - picture is fine with SD except for the footie (freesat via rgb scart) HD from PC also very good. Not sure what the electric consumption is tho?

Got it for 599 with 5 year warranty from sharp direct but no sign of the 10% topcashback :(

Its not really that essential

"For a 50-inch screen, the benefits of 720p vs. 480p start to become apparent at viewing distances closer than 14.6 feet and become fully apparent at 9.8 feet. For the same screen size, the benefits of 1080p vs. 720p start to become apparent when closer than 9.8 feet and become full apparent at 6.5 feet. In my opinion, 6.5 feet is closer than most people will sit to their 50" plasma TV (even through the THX recommended viewing distance for a 50" screen is 5.6 ft). So, most consumers will not be able to see the full benefit of their 1080p TV."

I'd rather die than deal with Pixmania again. If all is well then great, but if you have a problem expect hell.

To be honest I would avoid sharp......

Panasonic and Pioneer are the daddies. The budget range are Samsung and LG - this is where you should be aiming at a minimum!

Indeed - Pixmania are based in France I believe and do not seem to accept that the Sale of Goods Act applies to their UK sales.

After a week or two from delivery (not sure of the exact time limit) Pixmania attempt to pass of responsibility for all faulty goods to the manufacturer.

In the UK if you buy a TV and stops working after 2 weeks the retailer has a legal obligation to repair/replace.

Pixmania are cowboys. There is no difference between buying from them or from the back of a van.
Except, when you buy off the back of a van, you receive the goods right away and can inspect it before heading home.
