oxo chicken stock cubes (88p for 12 - a little over 7p each) contain:

Wheatflour, Salt, Flavour Enhancers (Monosodium Glutamate, Disodium Guanylate), Flavourings (contains Celery), Dried Glucose Syrup, Chicken Fat (contains Antioxidant: BHA), Potato Starch, Sugar, Yeast Extract, Dried Chicken Bonestock, Onion Extract and Colour (Ammonia Caramel).

I'd actually go so far as to say the ingredients of the 10p ones are better!

ive been using these for about a year and they are brilliant. They are the best stock cubes in my opinion.

Lovely ingredient list:

Disodium guanylate is not safe for babies under twelve weeks, and should generally be avoided by asthmatics and people with gout.

MSG as a food ingredient has been the subject of scientifically unsubstantiated health concerns. Some people may have an MSG intolerance which causes a worsening of asthmatic symptoms.
The INTERMAP Cooperative Research Group determined that MSG intake may be positively correlated to BMI
 Butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA) is apparently carcinogenic in animal experiments. May be harmful by ingestion or inhalation. May act as a skin, eye or respiratory irritant.

And of course chicken fat (pure saturated fats) and bone stock from 'spent' battery hens!

These cheap cubes are a million times better than the OXO ones!

good deal and price - will have to get some, the tesco value ones for 19p for pack of 12 were good till they stopped doing them
