£6.99

-1°

FOUND BY: Amy....xxx 7 months, 5 days ago

I was paying £24.99 on AOL Platinum, then when I phoned to cancel they reduced my mthly payments to £6.99 permanently and gave me a free wireless router too! Also when I complained why they hadn't offered this to me before, the lady on the phone apologised and gave me an additional 2 mths free!!!!!!!!
I am staying on AOL Platinum. Worth giving them a bell!

Call 0844 4995555 and go straight to cancellations.

New users can sign up from £4.99 a month!

They might do, when I spoke to the guy he immediately said he can do the deal for £6.99, he never mentioned any other prices. Also, I was told I can get max 5.0mb (the most my line will support).

I download torrents and the speed of the last months has been shocking, close to dial up speeds.
So much so I have to leave my pc on overnight

I was thinking of leaving AOL and stumbled across this site:-
http://www.thinkbroadband.com/isp/compare.html

AOL got poor results for everything and the forum for AOL users is full of NOTHING but complaints.

So bye bye AOL Im off to O2 :-)

No matter how cheap they may be I want a reasonable uncapped service which they DO NOT provide.

O2's fair usage policy is really fair to the end users and rarely have it applied to users.
I will stick to O2 anyway.

Oooh, thanks for that - I'll give it a try. Having said that, they have billed me for approx £35 of calls to an 0900 number which I did not make. If they refuse to credit me, then I shall leave as a matter of principle.

A first a happy AOL user

I was uncapped and now limited to 10GB a month so Im now throttled on peak times which "peak" means to AOL around 16hrs of the day

I use peer to peer which lets face it ISPs don't want us to use and abuse, on a 8MB connection the speeds are just ridiclous.

Quite amazed AOL are still actually going.... So many good deals out there for broadband now, their slow software, slow internet speeds and high prices put me off along time ago! Nothing has changed 7 years on....
