EXPIRED - Sainsburys - No date on cans of tomatoes

What should I do I bought 4 cans of tomatoes and 3 hasn't got any date on. What is my rights?

take them back and ask to exchange them for ones with dates on, it shouldn't be a problem

Is there really any need to go that far? If you do be very careful you have not made a mistake dates on cans can be quite hard to spot right inside the ridge, as it's usually displayed bigger on the multipack itself. Don't want to end up looking foolish.

Your rights are that you should take them back to the retailer for an exchange or refund. If someone bothered me at my work with such a trivial complaint, I'd show them the door (I work in EH).

I know it's all this compensation culture, as op I presume you would be expecting a voucher for reporting it. Like I say look very carefully dates are not always clearly displayed, they can be very difficult to spot, you would look quite foolish if this were the case, I have some tinned stuff and it's been right on the ridge of the tin.
