Philips energy saver light bulbs 11 watt (=60 watt) and 14 watt (= 75watt) only 10p each. Looks like a bayonet fitting.

Advertised in their instore leaflet. Maximum of 20 per customer

Instore only from the 14th May.

Cold. Why are so many of these horrible things being sold at a loss in the UK at present? They must be as poor in quality as the working conditions of those who make them.

These bulbs are bad news for the environment too.
I would suggest they are very bad for the health of the workers, more specifically than the environment as a whole, but are saving ENORMOUS amounts of CO2. Like everything else, and especially in a capitalist economy, there are some very odd trade-offs and I find it very hard to personally justify spending 5x the money on electricity for lighting (plus other significant increased costs) which also has the added negative effect of pumping out masses of C02 into the atmosphere too.

When China starts to enforce the most basic system of health and safety management in it's factories, then perhaps the economies will sort themselves out, but until then, this post is still an example of one massive bargain, so it's got to be hot!
