When some members are reserving the 1st post for pictures of the item they are selling, they should be made to put a picture there immediately instead of waiting for someone to request a picture, thus giving them a free bump.

If they don't, then a request for a picture should be counted as a bump.

That is all.

i also agree, isnt the rule you should have a pic anyway if your selling so they should add a pic if they have hed interest or not


just noticed you said when they have reserved the 1st post for a pic, if they reserve it immediatley then edit later it doesnt bump back up does it im sure it only bumps when it gets a new post so if they edit and add a pic it wouldnt bump, is this correct ?

It doesn't bump it when they edit it, but they get a free bump when someone asks for a photo.

i didnt realise you dont have to add a pic unless you had interest i thought u had to add one if you were selling thanks for that

^^^ Typical example of what I call bumping by proxy, regardless of the intentions. I've recorded my observations in that thread now.
Any pics posted in order to promote the sale unless part of the opening post (with associated reserved post) should count as a bump.

Further pics added as a result of a specific request would not normally attract a bump, although we would have to be happy that this does not get abused

If the first post in the thread being reserved for pics was made within a few mins (usually straight after the thread was made) then that should NOT constitute a bump.

Anything over 5 or so mins, maybe even less, SHOULD count as a bump, bit of discretion from the mods wouldnt go a miss though.

I am not sure if you are understanding my post.

If I start a thread and then immediately reply in the 1st post "Reserved for pics if any interest", then any posts asking for pics should be classed as a bump.

If the seller doesn't expect any interest, then they shouldn't be posting the thread in the 1st place.
