Foreign currency at great exchange rates. No fees or commission!

POSTED BY: Ian182 10 months, 1 week ago

A number of shops at the Tottenham Court Road end of Oxford Street provide a currency exchange service. Today, they are offering US$100 for £64. This is an exchange rate of $1.5625. The current official exchange rate is $1.5110. At the Post Office, it is a measly $1.4782.

For $100, it would cost you £67.65 at the Post Office.

OK, it is only a saving of £3.65, but if you are buying $500, that is a saving of nearly £20. Plus no queuing at the Post Office and no fees!

The offer on Euros is 100 for £89, a rate of 1.1236 compared to the Post Office's $1.0807.

I just hope you took your own validated calculator in with you to double check their arithmetic.

I remember an American friend being swindled at at Forex counter in Amsterdam where the machine printed out a FALSE/FRAUDULENT calculation of his Forex - only discovered later of course !

that's fantastic, I paid Natwest £238 to get 250 Euros, for the same money I would've gotten 267.5 Euros, I am wary of such places tho, do you get a receipt ?

It is advertised outside as $100 for £64. Just go in knowimg how much you should get back and you will be fine.

I haven't changed any money there yet, but I would have thought so, yes.

Like I said, go in there knowing how much you should be taking out of there. It is easy to calculate.

You got an exchange rate of 1.26ish? I think we need to see some proof of this one, or as mentioned above, there's a mistake in your figures.

Don't believe this I'm afraid. Nationwide rates are good when taking money out with a debit card, but not that good!!

You got any proof?

Don't doubt that this is a good deal for high street availability.
Personally i would rather order my currency through Crown Currency Exchange.
They've never failed me yet, and if you pre-order you can get some great rates.
Obviously you take a risk in that the rates can also go up, meaning that you could lose out.
Best thing to do is take a look for yourself.
Recently featured on BBC2 WORKING LUNCH as the best option for foreign currency in the U.K..

Can't hurt to have other options

It's a good option, although I leave for America on 4th June, so not a great rate for me there.

Good one for the future though.
