I had the details of this receiver sent to me by email from a well known satellite site I use.

I've never dealt with Tringsat myself personally, but the satellite forums would soon shout if they weren't a kosher setup. I've obviously no first hand knowledge of this set itself, but the spec tells me its a fantastic deal for the price.

There is also an offer to buy a system, including the motor drive and dish and this receiver (ie all you would need - inc cables etc) for £135


It's unfortunate the opening few posts here, highlight the fact the shop owners first language isn't English, inaccurately state the site is insecure (which is BS - since Paypal is pretty secure!!!) and hark on about satellite receivers being illegal (because of their own lack of knowledge and ignorance)..... but there you go. That's HUKDs for you.

Yes, their speeling is poor, but there is a reason - their first language isn't English. (I agree they should get someone to proof read and amend - but most people aren't too fussed about buying from a "foreigner".)

Hehe...... Yes, hacking freeveiw is illegal. Nice one.

That said, yes the receiver can be used to be firmware upgraded and decrypt numerous foriegn channels on other satellites for free. That is NOT illegal.

There are no channels it will decrypt for free that are intended for the UK market. There is nothing illegal about this receiver, but thanks for your concerns.

That, I can't comment on. (I wouldnt buy from a site that wasn't secure either - but they have a shop and a telephone number!!!)

I'll have a look myself a bit later to confirm one way or another. As I said in the opening post, I dont think they are dodgy (those forums would shout loudly if they were), but that was a surprise to hear you say that.

Yes, it receives freeview and a lot more besides. Its a multisat satellite system.

It has a one Conditional Access Module (CA multicrypt), which will decode digitalalb with a valid subscription card and USB port.

If there's anything else you need to know, ask away, but do so in a more constructive way than you have to date.

Well I would hope that any sat receiver can receive more than just a few ITV HD channels! It works with a moveable dish.

Hey dude, I did ask a question. Note the use of the "question mark" which looks like ? How about you answer questions constructively!

Cams never used to have anything to do with USB unless hacking was mentioned, added to the hint of lots more than freeview....
