you'll find that Matika has a chinese factory as well, so dont assume chinese = poo

That is correct.

No comparison to the cheapos but you just cannot educate some people.

One of these will outlast three of the £9.99 ones.

Also. why has it got a dogs face on it?

The Makita Corporation has factories in Japan, China, USA, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Germany and UK.
The UK factory at Telford commenced operations in 1991 and has become the only full-production plant
producing power tools in the UK.........

bet most of it comes from china though....does anyone know what is made in Telford? As in the current times I would rather pay far more for a UK product than a disposable ALDI bit of kit.
When Focus did 3 power tools for price of two and they were £10 each you have to wonder at the quality.
