Fisher Price 3 Stage Booster Car Seat £59.99 @ Argos

£59.99

-9°

FOUND BY: teerex 6 months, 20 hours ago

STARTS: 25/05/2009

I bought this today and took my 1 year old son for a ride in it to try it out. My main concern was that it does not recline and so his head would roll forward when he falls asleep. Well, it passed the test - he was fast asleep and his head was cupped in the head-rest, despite braking.

Details -

* An innovative two part car seat for use with a harness, a lap and diagonal seat-belt or as a booster.

* Group 1 to 3.

* Suitable for babies from 9 to 36kg (ages 9 months to 11 years).

* Forward facing.

* Fits front and rear seats - never use on a passenger seat fitted with an airbag unless your vehicle manufacturer confirms it is safe.

* Compatible with 3 point seat belt only.

* Converts to a booster seat.

* Integral 5 point harness with quick release buckle.

* Harness sleeves and buckle pad.

* Adjustable head support.

* Machine washable cover.

* Helpline number 01264 386034.

in my experience as a trained car seat fitter, this seat fits hardly any cars / fits badly.

AFAICT Fisher Price no longer list car seats on their website and I think this product is now discontinued. One must wonder why.

PM me your email and i will send you the Which crash test reports

You want to keep them in a 3 point harness as long as you can as they are alot safer , the Britax Evolva 123 would be a suitable choice, there is no point gettting a group 1 seat as they only go up to 18kg and she is too young & small for a group 2-3 seat (body isnt really strong enough yet to just use a seatbelt) , the age is just a guide really but the weight is important as they crash test using weights

That may be so but it fits both my car and the wife's and that's all I really care about. It is recommended that you try out beforehand and Argos said we could return within 30 days in the original packaging

Now come on, loads of items get discountinued for different reasons. It may be end of line and that's probably why it's been reduced in price but that does not make it unsafe.

Deanos, can you supply me with the Which report? I'd like to see it too - I've pm'ed you.

We got our son the kiddy infinity pro and its really good if a bit different. There is no harness just a impact cushion held in by the adult seat belt. We were so impressed his big sister whos 3 now has the Kiddy comfort which is from 9 mths to 18 kgs with the cushion then without as a high backed booster.
Came out well in the Which report, I did lots of research as I think we turn our children round far too soon in th UK. In sweden etc rear facing is the way they stay till about4 but extended rear facing is very expensive and hard to get here so I felt the Kiddy ones were a good alternative
