Not bad... but you could build a better spec system for this price.

Good spec but for this price could get an equally priced Dell with a better GPU e.g. ATI 4850 or 4870. Not sure about the components inside either this or the dell as they tend to use average components. Could upgrade the GPU in this one but depends on the spec of the PSU.

I get all of my pc's from aldi, well the last 3 and the last two laptops, was just wondering though that it has been said that medion release there best spec pc to aldi in November, which maybe true as both of mine have been bought in november but that was just that the timing was right. what i want to know is is this pc worth it or should i wait till november? not much wrong with mine now but in need of an upgrade i have the medion 8818 / ms-7318
Thanks for any advice

If theres nothing wrong with your PC now then I'd wait until November. If November comes and theres no super Medion model at Aldi then you'll still be able to find this spec and it'll probably be even cheaper by then.

Our Aldi store only got about 6 of these in last time so we were sold out by 10.30, if you are after this might be worth getting there for opening on Sunday.

Personally I reckon this is a good deal, just recommended to my Dad, I can't get anything on Dell for the price that matches this spec....my Dad does video editing and the HDMI output is a bonus...now going to choose a decent 22" monitor to go with it.

Check the outlet - I've seen Core i7 Studio XPS machines go for around 600 pounds and the i7 is significantly faster than the processor in this machine in general and particularly for video encoding especially if the application is multithreaded. The base processor design is faster but additionally the i7 supports multithreading allowing it to execute up to eight threads simultaneously and it can overclock two of its cores when the other two are idle or on low workloads.

One of the main reasons I went with an i7 was for video editing/encoding and its performance in single threaded apps is impressive and in multithreaded applications it's stupidly fast.

I assume it was just short of being hot and someone added heat for whatever reason. Now you've bumped it on the "newest discussed" as well (just click expire IMO)
