Yes its cheap but a little more money buys a whole lot more. It's biggest downfall is the is the DC1 DMD. 800x600 resolution (4:3) is just not upto film use. In cinemascope 2.66:1 you will only be using 300 vertical pixels so having to down scale DVD by nearly half and on a big screen which is what projectors are all about is not a good thing.

Spend a little more and get a 1280x720 DLP projector.

I want one for powerpoints etc at work. Would this be OK for this?

Should be fine I would have thought, ours at work are billy basic and they work fine (though motion graphics and fancy slide transitions can get a bit choppy!).

The only draw back to these in the past has been the huge price of replacement bulbs (like more than £100 each!) does anyone know if this is still the case nowadays???

Yes will be better suited to PP presentations especially if they are big and bold. You may struggle a little if you have small text as blown up it can look a little blocky. Set the monitor your using to 800x600 (right click the properties) and look at text then think what it would look like on a 6ft screen.

I have one of these, bought last year for about £430 new but unfortunately they have increased in price. This is the cheapest I can see after a quick google.

Very good pj but quite a bit more than the price in your original post.

Why is this cold when its the cheapest deal for this projector.
Vote on the item listed, not on stuff more expensive that may be a better spec but is maybe 100's of £££s more.

spose it all depends on what you are using it for and how big your wallet is also if you have one eye on the future and dont want to be left behind to quickly and how good your eyes are.
