''Does not receive freeview™ or subscription channels''

Er...so...what channels can I view then?

I thought I could line it up with a satellite and receive Freeview from Sky

Cheers.

Er...so what good is this satellite for then

Cheers.
It doesn't receive Freeview as it is a SATELLITE receiver, the hint is in the name.
Not all satellite channels are subscription.

Very cheap price for one of these kits.
The critical thing here is what the chipset is in the receiver, as to what you can "really" do with it
Heat added.

Google is your friend.
You need Sky or cable for subs channels, with this you get "free to air" which is the sat version of freeview.
You get a whole lot more than on freeview as to the number of channels available, about 30 on FV where as you get 100's of alternatives on FTA albiet many regional repeats, some risky and foreign offerings depending which sat you aim at,but you do get more.

You cannot get " Freeview " via Sky, Freeview is only available via a TV Aerial.

You will get the Free to Air channels from Sky/Freesat, depending on your location, the dish doesn't look big enough to function too well in some parts of the UK.

There's a discussion about these here :
http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/s....php?t=1036973

You should be able to receive all channels available on Freesat plus other Free To Air channels available on SKY. If you have a SKY box you can find out which channels you should receive by simply removing your viewing card and seeing which channels are then available. Depending on where you are using it, you will also be able to pick up foreign FTA channels by pointing at a different satellite. For example by pointing it to 19.2E you can pick up some of these channels with this size dish http://en.kingofsat.net/pos-19.2E-fta.php

Can anyone tell me can I take my sky box from home, plug one of these dishes in to the back of it and use this in my caravan? Many Thanks in advance. If not then, how can I use my sky box in the caravan? What set up does it need?

Yes, but it needs careful alignment and a clear view, no trees etc. in it's line of sight.

Apparently so. Some pubs apparently have the game on in another language but put Radio 5 on for the commentating.
