This is a nice card for the money ,Its really an updated 9800gtx+ and is equal to the HD 4850.

I bought this card.

It's a Gainward Geforce GTS 250

It's great. Plays Crysis on medium. Someone in work CLAIMED to be playing Crysis on full on a Geforce 7600...

oh how i laughed.

That must've been Crysis -1 they brought out 4 years ago

Bought one of these last week. Cracking card for the money.

One thing to note though: You will need 2 x 6pin PCI-e power connectors. They do supply a molex to PCI-e adapter cable with the card (connects to 2 molex connectors), but your PSU will also have to have one dedicated connector (or you have to buy another adapter) to run this card.

its been this price for ages the same as the 260gtx so not really hot and its free delivery for everyone forum members with over 50 posts get a next day delivery.

its not a gainward it a palit gainward are made by palit but are there high end card if you do your research you will see

I have a 7600gt (ddr3). Runs all current games (low settings obviously). I was suprised when I got it and it ran Crysis, Cod4, etc. Just had to disable all eye-candy.

Crysis has so many custom graphic tweaks I can even get it looking acceptably good on my laptop's ancient X1600. Hours of work for a game I barely played

you can connect it using 1 6pin PCI-e power connector, i have and mine is fine

Thats odd. Why have the extra power connector on the card if it isn't needed?

One downside I have discovered with this card: It does not drop down to 2D clock speeds when idle (so it draws more power than it really needs to). I would guess this might be a bios issue and could be fixed with an update as I think the 4 phase power design should be able to drop the clocks automatically (the fan also runs at full blast until after the OS is loaded and the drivers take over. Loud as hell at full but whisper quiet once slowed).

With my main PC running a GTX 260 the fan drops right after the board has posted (also downclocks properly when idle too).

Will have to keep an eye out at Palit or Gainwards sites for a bios update (they are exactly the same card).

I can photograph my box if needed, mine is the Gainward card, not in this Palit box

Palit took over Gainward a while ago, so Palit = Gainward , the boxes ,coolers can be different but manufacturers/contractors usually remain the same
