Hi all, Please be gentle with me as this is my first deal post, came across this deal with asda store for Sony DSC T70 digital camera at an awesome price of £79! This camera is @£79 from £149 ( reduced to clear).
This 8.1 megapixel Sony T70 digital camera features a 3x optical zoom lens and 6x digital zoom with 6.33-19.0mm(38-114mm) focal length to enhance picture quality. The Sony T70 is equipped with a face recognition function that detects the face of a subject and automatically adjusts the focus and brightness to deliver a clearer image, while the image stabiliser reduces blurring. This digital camera can also record video with sound. The 3" wide LCD touch screen allows for clear viewing and navigation of the controls. The T70 has a 32MB memory. Accessories include a Li-ion battery, battery charger, multi cable, wrist strap, paint pen and PC application.

I bought this camera at full price a year ago. I don't recommend it whatsoever. My Sony camera that I had before it (DSC-W1), which was stolen, was much, much better.

You are paying for style over substance. The camera is too small to have a decent lens, and I've seen much better pictures from older, cheaper cameras with many less megapixels than this one.

The flash is far too bright and ruins all night time photos (even when you turn it down). It has really poor performance in low-light conditions.

DON'T GET THIS CAMERA. Nothing against Sony. Just this camera.

It is missing a wide angle lens, and that is a make or break point for me. I also hate Memory Sticks, but I could possible get over that, certainly of this price, and if the color reproduction is good.

I received this camera as a gift for Christmas 2007 and I totally love it! – So much so that when I saw this deal I thought about getting another one in case my original was dropped/stolen etc.
This camera is easy to use and takes nice photos and has good video ability – if you in the market for a camera, you could do much worse than this!

The reviews are ok. I would say that you will not find a better sub £100 camera deal out there. Fair enough, at £150 there might be better deals but that's not what the price is. The next question is, can it be found in any other asda?

Exactly. There have been quite a few adsa deals on HUKD recently and none of which have been avaliable in my local store. And its not due to stock. They just havent been nationwide deals. So not voting cold on this deal but have on the others as they definatly are not avaliable.

Good deal but disadvantages of this:
(1) Suffers from extreme red eye. Will have to use software to remove the red eye.
(2) Poor at low light conditions (night time).

All of the above expected from a slim camera.

right, my girlfriend wants to get me a digital camera for my birthday.

Is this one better (in your opinion) than the samsung l201 from Tesco which is roughly the same price?
