£6.72

425°

FOUND BY: GraphicsMan 5 months, 2 weeks ago

STARTS: 04/06/2009

Picked this set up in Wickes yesterday. Probably not great quality for professionals but should be suitable for all the DIYers out there...

Drill and Screwdriver Bit Set:
A wide range of HSS, masonry and wood drill bits
Plain slot, cross head and pozi screwdriver bits
Also includes hole saws and sanding drums

I think postage is £5.95 if ordering online. They had plenty in my local store though.

Wickes Vouchers: £5 - WK SFIVE, 10 off 100.00 - WKSLC1, £10 off 100.00 - CRTWKS

Hi

Just a warning, I got this set and it's REALLY bad. Three of the drill bits bent the first time I used them - had to take it back. Isn't even work £6.72 I'm afriad (I did actually try another set thinking it was just one dodgy lot, but the second lot did this also).

Avoid it

Thanks for the advice. I'll try them at the weekend and see, but sounds like I'll be heading back for a refund!

Well I bought one of these yesterday and used the masonry bits and flat driver bits fine. Not sure how you managed to bend them, but for 6.72 I'm going to pick up another 2 sets today.

Personally, I think it's an exceptional deal. My 2p.

I bought the set a few weeks back for half original price of £13.

I have to disagree with the other poster and say this is fantastic value for money. Whilst this isn't for the professional handyman, this set has a mass of attachments which I have found useful around the house doing jobs. Great product for the money.

And for £6 odd, I am going to be going back to stock up. So if bits wear and tear I'll just crack open a new case....

I would recommend this to everyone, at this price you cannot go wrong.

I agree, have used the smallest of drill bits under pressure and mine have drilled in and out smoothly.

Cheap drill bits and especially driver bits cause more problems than just having to buy new ones every few months - they knacker the screws you're trying to put in/take out and a snapping cheap drill bit is dangerous and can ruin a good drill.

Stuff like this really is a case of buy cheap buy twice, but I suppose if you're building a balsa wood bird house or something, then they're probably hot!

Worth a separate post if you ask me. I wouldn't have seen it otherwise...

How do you bend a drill bit? they're hard and brittle, sure I've broken a few in half ... never bent ??

Do not try to bend the bit; that's impossible. Instead only try to realize the truth: There is no bit.
