Back from Butlins - Minehead...What a fantastic break

I know that there will be some of you out there that hate the place but I was very suprised at their high standards. I upgraded to a silver and my Mum upgraded to gold but there was barely no difference at all. It was the same flat/apartment with the same furniture and the same bedding. She had a beech kitchen whereas I had a country style blue and she had a safe and an extra tv but she wished she had stayed at silver now.
I've stayed at pontins before so was expecting pretty much the same disgusting hole but what a suprise..
When we got there we were given our apartment details and off we went - cleaning products and my own bedding at the ready. When we entered, it was a bright, fresh flat with 2 leather sofa's, really clean and fresh bedding, a spotless newly fitted bathroom and immaculate decoration.
It was newly painted, clean carpets, and the kitchen was spotless.
How impressed am I? Well we're already making a booking to go back next year and not going to bother with Florida.
Well done Butlins for bringing yourself into the modern age - you might just make it yet!

Glad you enjoyed it, we went there in may, enjoyed butlins but when you go outside into minehead, there was not alot to do, much prefer skegness or bognor regis, plenty to do outside butlins

We go to skegness every year and love it - we are off to Minehead in August (not been to Minehead since it was upgraded (and that was a long while ago!))

Skegness great - Bogner was the worst place ever and there give me 2 rooms and 75% back lol.

Link above shows Pontin - Im doing a Pontins for the first time at Southport (Sun Hol).
What Im I walking into - so far I can see we get a sofa bed lol - any advice
