02 said last night that due to the short turn-around between anouncement and release that it will not be offering pre-order on this phone.

However mobiles.co.uk are offering the first pre-orders for the 3GS. It promises dispatch on 18 June. Owned by carphone warehouse and offering a £60 Quidco for the pre-order, this is the hottest discount on the new darling.

You can use the £45/month tarriff and get more minutes and cut back to the £30/month tarriff after 9 months on 02.

Total costs (16GB)
18 months @ £30pcm=£713.82 (653.82 after Quidco)
9 months @£44pcm plus 9 months @ £30pcm=£747.98 (£687.98 after quidco)

32GB is £90 more.

(Calculations with VAT of 15%, it will go back up to 17.5% in December)

EDIT: note the attached voucher for a free bluetooth headset.

Interesting.... £60 is a lot of money.... basically pays for the 32gb over the 16gb (or rather pays enough for me to get it).

However, I've heard its better and safer to get it from an apple store, as you then deal with them directly for warranty issues.

Tempting, and voted hot, because its the cheapest, but would be interested in hearing others views.

I've used mobiles.co.uk in the past, but before they were assimilated by the borg.

thanks OP just gone for the 32gb ver even though i can't afford it, voted hot as this is the best deal out there at the moment regardless of the price!the way i see it im getting a brand new ipod that makes phone calls and it'll cost less than a tenner a week for plenty of mins/texts and internet,shame about the tethering being extra but ive just been given a 3g dongle for free so yey!

Even if you cant, the apps will show as purchased on your itunes account so at worst you'd re-download them.
