I had AA cover with the AA. They gave me a big discount because I paid by credit card. The following year they took £112

off my card. I complained and said that I never gave them permission. They said that they record all calls but couldn't find the recording of me giving permission but still refused to refund me the money. They did send me mail but as I didn't want another policy at £112 I threw it in the bin without reading it properly. The lady I spoke to said "I was
obliged to read the letter and if I had I would have realised that they had set up an annual direct debit." The credit card company said I had to sort it out with AA. Went round in circles and got nowhere.
Make sure you cancel your direct debit if you take out a policy as the deals are only for new customers and you won't benefit from Quidco next year.
