My OH cried at all 3 of our childrens births.
1st baby was 12 days late, I was induced, she took 20 hours to come out, she was a merconium baby so was whipped away as soon as she came out to be cleaned up, had the drip in my hand to keep the contractions coming, my hand swelled up to twice its size as they didnt tell me to keep moving it lol. I took an epidural with her because she was laying back to back on me, part of the reason why my labour took so long was because we were waiting on her turning, I had to be cut with her because she got stuck and they needed to use forceps.
2nd baby was 14 days late, she took 3.5 hours to come out, went into hospital and they put they tablet things in, which worked a treat as I didnt have to have the drip drug in to keep the contractions coming, managed with gas and air for a while but then it became unbearable, got the morphine jag and she was out about an hour later.
3rd baby was 10 days late, he was induced too, my labour took 12 hours with him, I managed the whole labour up until 11.20pm with the gas and air, then at 11.25pm she gave me the morphine jag, 11.30pm he was born, what a pure waste of morphine lol.
I've never had the pleasure/displeasure of my waters breaking/contractions starting themselves lol, they've always been broken for me.
My midwives have always been excellent, I'll never forget the advice the midwife gave me during my 2nd labour, she said..
"concentrate Ashley, as soon as the babys head is out stop pushing immediately"
She told me that it would reduce the risk of me tearing/needing to be cut, telling you its the best piece of advice that anyone has giving me, I remembered what she had told me and did the same with the birth of my wee boy and it worked a treat again.
Needed 5 stitches with the first and none at all with the 2nd 2.
Telling ya if anyone told ya just how painful it was to pee after you'd been cut and stitched back together you'd probably never have any naturally lol.
I think whilst having my babies i've never felt closer to my partner, he was there with me the entire time and just made everything so much easier, I definetly couldn't have gotten through it without him.
