Excellent deal - these are usually at least £50

Probably won't be voted highly cos its not a sexy piece of consumer electronics........

This unit is 780W max output, that means when it's running flat out. This unit would only be suitable for camping and very light use due to the low power output. The average kettle runs at 1.2KW.

A very good price.

One thing to be aware of is that these cheap generators tend to give a very 'rough' output with poor voltage regulation. Fine if you are powering things like lights or whatever. However, take care if powering something like a laptop as it would probably invalidate any warranty *if* something were to break.

Kettles tend to be 2.2KW-3KW. Point taken though that these generators will not power one.

I have a spare Belkin 500VA UPS from when ebuyer had them for £17

Can I assume that should I need to use the generator (it'll be the emergency backup for 3 family houses since I seem to be Mr. Emergency for relatives) that the UPS would smooth out any unreliability in the electrical current?

It'll give out enough power to keep the freezer running but not a lot else in an emergency situation

Yes, but you'd get even less wattage due to the draw by the charging circut! The three families would be able to huddle in an unheated room with a small TV

(p.s. I have an image but can't find out how to load it)??
Money-talks,

I posted this yesterday in response to someone who didn't know how to insert images - hope this helps anyway...

When you want to post a picture there are two ways of doing it and it depends whether the image is stored on your home computer or already posted on a website.

If the pic is on your home computer then you have to upload it to the internet in order to link to it. To do this use something like this: http://www.picturehost.co.uk/ which is free to use and doesnt require registration.

Once uploaded, it will give you the link which you can copy and then paste when you click the Insert Image button, for example, using Quick Reply in this forum.

The other way of posting an image is simply linking to its URL if its already on some website. Right click on the picture and select Properties....you will see its Address (URL) which you need to highlight and then copy and paste - make sure you highlight the whole address starting with http bit all the way to the .gif or .jpg bit, and then right click > copy. Then as above, use right click > paste when prompted for the image link.
