Trying to get my head around Ubuntu at the moment. These Linux mags are £6 each or so in Tesco, so this seemed a good deal to try them out.

I've had the first edition of a trial to "Linux Magazine" but it's virtually impenetrable, even to a seasoned pc user. Fortunately this Format magazine seems much more beginner friendly and readable.

I can't see anything on the website to suggest that there's a trial offer (only a discount on the first three issues). Where should I be looking to find the T's & C's of the trial?

I took out a sub today and got an email confirming the 1st DD is for £1 - I'm going to cancel the DD after that's been taken, and before the next for £16.99, and drop them an email as a courtesy. A flyer in the magazine says you can cancel in writing within 60 days and they'll refund cost of all unmailed issues. I'd suggest my course of action is easier.

Not sure what these ad-hoc construction jokes are about, but I suspect I'll find out as I get more into Linux...............do distros mysteriously update/break themselves when you're not looking?
