I have had two major complaints with Alliance & Leicester since joining them in August last year, both of which were settled in my favour after relentlessly arguing with them. They both had to go as far as the group's customer relations department before they realized they were in the wrong on both occasions, due to making mistakes in regards to dealing with figures that frankly you'd deal with at primary school level mathematics. The customer service is absolutely appalling. You literally get a different answer every time you speak to someone different in their call center. This company caused me an immense amount of stress and dealing with them was like constantly banging my head against a brick wall. Yesterday I was actually overcome with delight when I finally managed to close my account and say goodbye to them. It felt like a tremendous weight was off my shoulders. It felt like I was finally freed from a nightmare. You might think describing it this way is a bit overkill, but trust me, it's not.
Without even the absolute slightest shadow of doubt, it's the worst company I have EVER dealt with. I would strongly recomend to anyone to NEVER do business with A&L. As far as I'm concerned every company makes mistakes, but to do it twice and to constantly misadvise, well there's clearly a massive training issue that needs to be sorted out to say the least.
Voted cold for this reason, I'm afraid. Not good value for money because when you inevitably need customer service, it won't be there, and you'll get shat on from a great height.
