NHS Agenda For Change : Podiatrists : Any job descriptions out there

OK, bit of a strange request for HOTUKDEALS...

My Wife is a Senior II Podiatrist with NHS Lothian. 5 years after the introduction of AFC, they have finally announced the results of the departments appeal (after all staff, Basic and Senior II were graded at Level 5) - the end result being that despite the fact that all Senior II have the same basic job description, some have been successfully upgraded to Band 6, whilst some have been told that they remain Band 5 (which of course includes my wife, a senior II POP for 19 years and ISO Auditor).

The general feeling is that this has been purely arbitary based on financial pressures as opposed to clinical skills, and is out of step with what has happened in the rest of the UK.

Was wondering if any HDUK members were NHS PODs and could share the experience they went through in thier health authority, which might be helpful in appealing the appeal result !

Interested in them all - to understand the distinction that has been made between them. Within Lothian each individual had a customised job description, but all Senior II PODs were from the same base job description created by the Head of Service and Society rep.

my missus used to work as a POD in Aberdeen as well after she graduated (shes aberdeen born and bread) !

I do, but until they are put through consistency checking I won't give them out. I'm guessing your missus knows a few people still in the Aberdeen department, so she could phone and ask for the AFC JDs
