£8 on fruit is easy to spend - even buying a portion of cherries, strawberries, a tub of mushrooms, some salad leaves and a bag of potatoes (a normal shop for me) takes me to around £8. Tesco's fruit is dearer than Asda/Morrisons to start off with.

Maybe a bit late now but good tip for the future - Buy the Daily Telegraph from a WH Smith store in a train station and get a 750ml bottle of Buxton water free

Permanent offer - during the week it's cheaper to buy the paper than the water

No, tatters aren't fruit - but the offer is for fruit and veg. Potatoes are a veg, albeit of the underground variety.
