Automatic subscription

Good idea, but I think everyone is going to tell you to manually subscribe to the thread you create.

Why? It already automatically adds it when you reply to a thread (if set up), so why not when you post a new thread.

If people want to subscribe to threads etc they should have to select that option is all i'm saying,it shouldn't be automatic,its easier to set your own preferences in the control panel

Yes but when the option to automatically subscribe is selected new threads that you create are not added...sorry have you misunderstood the proposal? It's not to make it default that it automatically subscribes, just when the option is selected it automatically subscribes to EVERY thread you create or post in. The current situation is that it only automatically subscribes when you post in a thread.

Its been discussed before - the reason it doesn't is something to do with the custom part of the site code (ie the part that isn't vBulletin) but you would think it can't be that hard to sort out!
