OK, perhaps £40 more for the 1.5tb:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0021ACXP...1&linkCode=asn

And about £20 more for a 1tb:

No. 40% more expensive for the 1tb meaning 7p per gb, whereas deal was 7.8p per gb.

Ignoring the fact it's cheaper per gig, most folk are buying larger drives as they need more space. Buying this smaller drive wouldn't be cost effective nor negate the need to buy another - soon.

Not everyone needs a hige 1.5tb drive or have an extra £40 to spare or even have all there eggs in one basket so to speak

Its a good price, heat added.

That's really quite a pedantic argument. You also ignore the 1.5TB on you quoted for £40 more as that was the one I was referring to.

Price per GB is a bit of a nonsense really. If you have a budget of £50 for an external HDD then this is a great deal as you would be very hard-pushed to get more for your money.

Like most stuff, the more you buy, the cheaper it gets

I ignored the 1.5tb drive as it works out as exactly the same price per gb. Sorry for your confusion.
