Im thinking someone told a joke about a solar powered torch to the inventor, and failed to tell him it was a joke. He thought he'd come across a niche in the market and made this.

I have one on my car keys (keys in my pockect when im not driving) and it always works when you need. It won't blind you but it does help find lost stuff in dark places
