I ordered one earlier today when it was shown as 1TB on the main picture and 1.5TB in the description. Rang them up because it said £65.99 (plus delivery) on the main page and £69.99 when I put it into my basket. I asked them to put the website right as it was confusing, and they've now confirmed that it's 1.5TB. They also refunded me £4.

are these any good? haven't seen them anywhere else HOT price though esp with free delivery starting at midnight

edit : looks like this is 1tb as i cant find this model anywhere on google : looks a bit like this though :

Has anyone have any first hand experience of these, as I have seen many comment on that Hitachi drives are slow and not so great. I guess the 5400 rpm access speed is downside. Can you imagine having this drive full with data and trying to use it with this access speed, its bad enough on 500mb let alone 1.5gb. Any comments would be handy, I do like the price.

When I rang them up, I asked whether it was 1TB or 1.5TB as people wouldn't be fussed if they ordered a 1TB and a 1.5TB turned up but they'd be p***ed if it was the other way round. He said he thought it might be 1.5TB as they'd "just had a load in" but he'd get them to change the website to what it should be. They've now changed the main pictures to correspond with the description so I'm assuming that they're 1.5TB.

Edit: They've also changed my order to show it as a 1.5TB. The price is still shown as £69.99 but they've credited me with a £4 voucher valid for 12 months.

I've been googling 'Hitachi 1.5TB external' and can't find any other supplier that does such a drive. I am wondering if they actually exist. The RRP of the 1TB on play.com is £99.99 so it doesn't make sense that the RRP of a 1.5TB one is simialr.

The drive is a SimpleDrive made by Simpletech (part of Hitachi worlwide) see here
They don't list a 1.5tb, but it's quite likely the products are ahead of the web-site.

Hitachi don't make a 1.5tb internal drive according to the official website and I can't see them using anyone elses in a external unit
