EXPIRED - Powercolor HD 4850 VGA DVI and HDMI on board - £71.63 inc Del @ Ebuyer

£71.63

278°

FOUND BY: muddyfox470 4 months, 2 weeks ago

I don't know whether posting ebuyer deals is still not allowed or what, so apologies if this is still the case...

ANYWAY... the best price I have seen for a fully fledged 4850 so far.
This Powercolor 4850 has onboard VGA, DVI and HDMI which is great if you don't like using adapters, and is perfect if you want to hook it up to a home cinema system, for the 7.1 LPCM audio output :)

£71.63 inc supersaver delivery is a great price for this card; if the rest of your PC can handle it. Don't get me wrong this is no longer a top of the range card, but it handles a lot of great/recent games at stupid resolutions, and well 2 of these for crossfire...

Manufacturers Website: http://www.powercolor.com/eng/products_features.asp?ProductID=5859#

It has a new Arctic Cooling cooler (dual slot) so it should keep temperatures and noise down. For the price I think it is stunning value, especially considering it performs better than a 4770 at stock, and 4770's are like hens teeth atm.

Just make sure you have a PCI 16x lane free along with the 6 pin power connector
~ 30 in stock at the time of posting.

HOT! I'm ****** I built my PC when I did. GFX card prices have dropped loads since. I paid £140 for a 1Gb HD4850 and I'm more than impressed with it. It plays any game I throw at it with max settings and never complains. My only issue with the one I have is the fan gets really loud when you play games, that shouldn't be a problem with this card.

Amazing card. I'd buy another one to cross-fire with, but quite frankly I don't need to!

No really, it does. Anti-aliasing hardly dents frame rates, 4xAA on 1680x1050 on all my games no sweat. Taking away AA only seems to improve frame rates by a couple of frames.

Forgot to add that there is a 1Gb version available for £84.99, but in most tests/reviews the extra memory isn't shown to really help the card.

http://www.ebuyer.com/product/167333

Crossfire of 2 of these for £145 will annihilate any game and a lot of the competition [although I only prefer running 1 graphics card...]

Still the 4850 has good architecture, and will perform well with a lot of games at resolutions like 1920x1080/1200 with little/no AA, for insane gaming with most effects turned on high you would have to look at crossfire or the latest series of graphics cards from both ATI and NVidia.

Definitely the 4850 is better than the 8800GT, but it all depends on your needs whether it's worth the upgrade (resolution and games), if the 8800GT is still capable of playing the games you want, then wait a little longer
