Good router, good price.

It's a very slimline unit and can be stood upright, great if you have your other in the hallway like I do.

Good backup but it's nothing new or special.

I'd rather pop down to my local Argos and get this Belkin for £29.99 http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Produc...er/6750392.htm

Routers are the sort of thing most people try and save a few quid on. If you need one you need one.

I have personally always had problems with all the Linksys hardware that I have.

My first purchase was a wireless router on which the 3-pin power input overheated greatly. They replaced that with another, newer wireless router model which just kept on dropping the signal 2-3 times a day. I later purchased a wired usb wireless signal receiver which packed in after about 5 months of use.

Will never bother purchasing any Linksys products again. I instead prefer Netgear, not 1 signal drop in over 8 months, superb.

Could this be attached to an existing wireless network and extend it? Ie our wireless doesn't reach one end of our house, can we put this half way down the house and use it to extend the connection?

I too have issues with the Linksys I currently have at home. I find the signal to be weak and have compatibility issues with Windows and Norton Antivirus software.

simple, get rid of norton software, its the worst antivirus software out there, and slows your computer down.

i would rather use avg free than that piece-o-crap.

or buy NOD32

routers a good deal, i would buy ten of these iver buying a belkin model, if you want a brand of router that would be the epitome of crapness, then belkins your one.

Is the Belkin you linked to something new or special? Can you buy something new or special for £23 or even £30?

What advantage would the extra £7 give me if I just want to share my 8Mb cable broadband connection to my house and not the entire street?

Personally I would look at something like THIS ONE but this deal represents excellent value for money is IMO

or for those against Belkin, Linksys WRT160N currently has a £10 cashback promotion on it meaning you can get it for £40 or less

I'd avoid, unless desperate. Old tech.
