TESCO FREE GOODY BAG FROM PHARMACY FOR DIABETICS

I was recently diagnosed, although I don't look like much of a diabetic, how was this advertised?

how do you look if your a diabetic ?

When people find out I'm diabetic, they often say you don't look like one !!!! - I always tell them that I'm fortunate in that unlike most diabetics my skin has not turned green yet and my peni5 has not fallen off, look on there face always calms me down again

Apparently I'm 'too young' and I'm no longer fat.

Sir Steve Redgrave is a diabetic, and he has never been fat, prob one of the fittest people ever, so it's wrong to pigeon hole diabetics as old or overweight, my friends son has been a type 1 since birth, his mother is a fit (in the physical sense) slim 29 year old, non smoker/drinker.
I'm not having a go at you, as I know how I felt when I found out, but providing you are sensible and keep your blood sugars balanced you will live a normal, healthy and long life - best thing you can do to start with is join the diabetic association, they are a great help www.diabetes.org.uk

I have both types of Diabetes. Its called Cystic Fibrosis Related Diabetes, My diabetes is a result from an underlying condition called CF. I am not fat, I am underweight. I know many people who have diabetes that do not fit into the stereotype people have put them in.

You don't just tell them which drugs you take and that would convince them. You could always take your repeat prescription counterfoils with you, that would prove it beyond doubt..

Unfortunately the nearest Tesco with Pharmacy is 8 miles away so not very green to go and get one... Unless the list of freebies makes it worthwhile. Whats in the pack....

I felt fine till they said I was diabetic and put me on them pills!

If your not a diabetic why are you pretending to be one and taking offers set out for people who are. I think you should be shot.

I agree. Thats as bad as claiming disability allowance when there is nothing wrong with you. I am sure many people would jump a the chance of swapping places with you, that way you wouldn't have to pretend

I just added a competition actually that's a blood glucose meter giveaway - might be relevant if you have diabetes too...

I know diabetics come in all shapes and sizes, I'm only saying what other people are thinking!
