The value for money of these breaks is also second to none. Because we sail overnight, youll have a great night out on board, enjoy a good nights sleep and then arrive in port next day refreshed and ready for your time ashore. You will spend aprox 5 hours in Amsterdam which is plenty of time see the sights at your leisure. Later in the day, its time to head back to the ship for the evening sailing, where theres more entertainment in-store

Choose to explore the canals and tree lined streets, enjoy a drink at a canal side cafe and watch the world go by or take in one of the 40 museums this cultural city has to offer, visit the famous house of Ann Frank, take in the Van Gogh museum or visit the new Hermitage exhibition.

When you arrive in Holland, you are escorted onto waiting coaches for the short transfer into the city centre, where you can either stay on the coach for a sightseeing tour of this captivating city, or explore Amsterdam for yourselves.

Return coach transfers are included. Transfer from Ijmuiden to Amsterdams city centre takes about 30 minutes.

If you book direct through dfds you can arrange to stay longer but it costs LOADS more. Ive been on this trip before it does say a 30 minute bus ride to central amsterdam. Try 2 hours for us when we went due to the main tunnel being closed so all the traffic was diverted through the city centre we only ended up with about 3 or 4 hours in amsterdam.

This seems cheap but its a waste of time unless you add a night in a hotel. Its really not worth it for 3-4 hours in Amsterdam. Also there is very little choice for vegetarians in the on board buffet.

Not even worth eating on board its so expensive when we went a year or two ago we loaded up on greggs before we went and tried to find food in amsterdam for the return journey (not that easy or cheap.)

Where did you get 3-4 hours from??

arrives 09.30 // Departs 17.30

Thats 8 hours less 2 x 20min bus journeys

Think they were referring to the fact that id ended up with 3-4 hours because of the traffic situation. No way even with very little traffic (which there will be loads of because of the times you travel to and from amsterdam) that it would only take 20 minutes. In all honesty theres not a great deal to do in amsterdam so probably 3-4 hours was enough.
