Three - 700 min / text 18m contract for £15.75 with Nokia 6120 (£55 cashback)

£15.75

286°

FOUND BY: dxx 4 months, 1 week ago

Okay, bit of a mouthful as post titles go. To explain it in some better detail, the deal's details run:

- £15.75 a month, for 18 months
- 700 minutes, or 700 texts, or whatever mix you fancy (ie 600mins, 100txts)
- Nokia 6120 mobile, which has a 2mp camera, and that you can read a review of at http://www.cnet.com.au/nokia-6120-classic-339279174.htm
- £55 cashback if you buy via TopCashBack or via Quidco. TCB report 89% sucess rate with cashback tracking

http://threestore.three.co.uk/nokia.aspx for a semi-direct link

I know that some of you will vote this cold because you don't like Three, but if any of you inevitable cold voters can suggest a cheaper way to get 700 minutes a month, I want to hear it.

what are you gonna do with 700 min, start a phone booth?
its just not worth the hassle of 18months of three.

700 minutes isn't that much. Deduct the 100 minutes you'd probably do well to swap for 100 texts and you're only looking a 10 hours talktime per month, which quickly vanishes if you've got a couple of blabbers in your phone book.

I've used Three for years without issue. Tried them when they first came out, and left as soon as I could. Since 2006/7 though I've been a customer.

Three is a great network for calls and text and internet. As an upgrade for my 1100minand text for £13.25 with that nokia 6120 beat that as an upgrade deal and Three is the only UK network that lets you upgrade on the 15 month of a contact on an 18 month contract so I don't care because coverage in London is great.

i'm with 3 and have had hardly any problems with the network and my 18months are up next month, was thinking of going for the vodafone sim only deal going around at the moment but when checking the network coverage in my house found it lacking, i guess its hit and miss depending on where you live and how good network coverage is. With this deal you may get an extra £30 refer a friend on top of the quidco plus you get a phone, hot for me

Afaik, it isn't possible to port your number from one contract to another directly. Someone who knows better will probably be along shortly, but I think the method you need to use is to end the current contract by requesting a PAC code, then use that PAC code with a cheap PAYG SIM from a different operator, and then sign up for a new Three contract and PAC the code over. You might find it easier to phone the cancellations line and tell them of this deal, though. Point them to the URL if you like. Explain that they can either renew at the price offered above and with an equivelent to the TCB cashback (less a tenner to cover the costs of a new PAYG SIM, I guess), and if they've any sense, they'll let you.

One way of porting your number would be to get a PAYG sim from someone else, port the number to that and then port it back to your new contract. Yes, it's hassle but AKAIK it's the only way to do it.

I'm about to join 3, as I've got a Nokia N97 coming tomorrow. I've heard lots of varying reports about the 3 network. My mum is with them and doesn't have any problems. I can't help thinking it would be useful if people could give an indication of where they are using their phone when they have good or bad reception, so other people can gain a better picture of their coverage. As far as I've experience, the network seems fine around the Worthing area.

I had my first experience of their call centre today - my word, it was hard to understand some of what was being said!

Guys, the 6120 phone is the same phone available for 15£ /mnth on a 6 month contract.

The phone is worth a little over 50 quid.

The deal isnt bad as such.. but I would definitely look at a better phone. 18 months with a 6120 is terrible, if you use skype [even if you just login to skype + MSN ] and talk 5-10min /day
you are going to be charging the phone every night !

Yes the call centre is in Mumbai, and the customer reps cant offer any thing else other than what they see on screen which is pretty much what you see online.. so if your haggling for a deal/upgrade try asking for the manager.
