Just done a bit of research and i don't think this dollar is silver as described, i think it is copper/nickel sandwich and not silver.

Nah, it deffo isn't plated. It is 40% silver and 60% aggr. of silver/copper. There was a copper/nickel version but this is the silver one.

Hi i am going to withdraw my offer as it technically isn't a silver dollar, it would have to be .999 pure silver to be described as a silver dollar.

cheers Mark.

No probs, but no US silver dollar has ever been made to .999 purity.
"The term silver dollar is often used for any large white metal coin issued by the United States with a face value of one dollar; although purists insist that a dollar is not silver unless it contains some of that metal."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_dollar_coin

This is 40% silver, so it is a 'silver dollar' in the classical sense of the term.

I think you will find the new 1oz Troy American Silver Eagle Coins are .999 pure.

But that is a bullion coin, not a general circulation silver dollar
